What you can ask for
- Who: a man and a woman, two men, two women, or more than two people.
- A setup: rivals, second chance, snowed in, fake dating, or any of the romance tropes, mixed however you like.
- A dynamic: slow or fast, gentle or bossy, lots of praise, or power play between consenting adults.
- How warm: Clean (the door closes), Steamy (charged, not explicit) or Explicit (written plainly).
- The details: names, jobs, the town, the weather. The more specific you are, the more it reads like somebody meant it.
You can also tell it what you never want to read. Add anything to your own Never list, and it’s kept out of every idea and chapter.
What makes it different
- Chapters, not a wall of text. Each chapter ends at a point where you get to choose. You can also leave a note for a later chapter, rewind, edit, or branch into another version.
- Plain, specific writing. A forty-seat place in Oakland, not “a restaurant in the city”. Characters with their own reasons, nerves and histories, so the story holds together when you steer it.
- The characters talk back. Message anyone in your story, or call them for a live voice call. They remember everything up to the chapter you’re on, and nothing after.
- Hear it and picture it. Have a chapter read aloud with a voice for each character, or turn a line into a picture. These use credits, and the cost is shown first.

What it won’t write

Who can use it?
Adults 18 or older (or the age of majority where they live) in the United States. Some states require a one-time age check before your first story: a photo of your ID and a selfie, through our verification partner, Didit. During the beta, sign-up is by invite code.
Does a person write the stories?
No. AI writes every idea and every chapter when you ask for it; no person writes them. Our staff look at an item only when our safety checks flag it or someone reports it.
Can I use it to write my own book?
